MSSN of NIJ Chapel holds its 5th Symposium Today

BY Onome Edafie

On the 31st of may 2018, the Muslim students of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism held a lively symposium which seems to be far better than the previous ones.

The program titled the role of religion relationships in national development was held at the school hall. The program which started around 1 o’clock and ended 5.30 pm went successfully as Christian students dominated the hall.

Few minutes after the commencement of the program, Brother Imar, an MSSN Amir of Ikeja area, one of the invited guest came on stage to deliver some speech on how the relationships between the two party can impact positively on the nation.

While speaking, the Amir made a comment concerning a recent video of a song title “This is Nigeria" owned by a popular Nigeria musician Falz.  He berated the video for using Muslim hijab girls in the name of passing a message, in the sense that such act can only spoil the name of the religion.

According to him, religion is a way of life and God Almighty created human beings as one and has given us some set of rules that will guide us right.

However, some invited school lecturers also spoke on different angles on the topic and they encouraged students to embrace one another irrespective of their religion or beliefs.
